Avtar Virdee Children's Foundation
Privacy
Last updated 7 October 2026
We keep things simple: this website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and collects nothing about your visit. The only personal information we ever hold is what you give us when you donate or email us.
Who we are
The Avtar Virdee Children's Foundation (AVCF) is a registered charity in England and Wales, no. 1086994. We are the data controller for the information described on this page. You can reach us at tim@virdee.com.
Donations
Donations are processed by Stripe, our payment provider. When you donate, Stripe collects your name, email address, billing details, and card information on its own secure pages. Your card details go only to Stripe - they never touch this website or our systems. Stripe processes this information under its own privacy policy.
From Stripe we receive your name, email address, donation amount, and - if you choose it at checkout - whether you may be eligible for Gift Aid. We use this to process your donation, send a receipt, keep the accounting records charity law requires of us, and, where you have made a valid Gift Aid declaration, to claim Gift Aid from HMRC.
If you email us - for example to set up a standing order - we use your message and contact details only to reply and to arrange whatever you asked about. We don't add you to any marketing list; we don't have one.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking of any kind. Stripe's checkout pages, which are hosted by Stripe, may set their own cookies as described in Stripe's privacy policy.
Who we share information with
Only the organisations needed to run the charity: Stripe (payment processing) and HMRC (Gift Aid claims and tax records). We never sell or share donor information for marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep donation and Gift Aid records for as long as charity and tax law require - generally six years after the end of the financial year they relate to. Ordinary email correspondence is kept only as long as it is needed.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to or restrict how we use it. Email tim@virdee.com and we will respond. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
